About this index

Goalline Kings is an independent editorial index of hotels. It covers four categories — art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels — and it covers them in prose, because a hotel is a building with a character and a spec table cannot hold that.

The index is not tied to any one country. Properties are chosen because they illustrate something about their category clearly, not because of where they sit on a map or what they might pay to appear. Nothing here is sponsored, and nothing here is bookable.

Descriptions are written from publicly known, general characteristics of each property: what kind of building it is, when it opened or when it is rebuilt, what facilities it keeps, what the setting is like. Where details change — and in this trade they change often — the operator's own material is the authority, not this page.
